The reading notes on the Path of Life below are written by Willow Calm, Vincent Chu, and Donna Selby; and finally edited by Robert Anderson. They have read the entire book for many times and written down some valuable reading notes to share with other readers.                          The book The Path of Life for our understanding -- Reading Notes (3)

What kind of book is The Path of Life?  In our understanding, we have three basic estimations of it.

1.  The Path of Life is the most—most—important book in human history.  It depicts Creator Pan Gu opening the sky and forming the earth to create the cosmos and the human world.  It tells why and how the Creator created the cosmos and the human world and where present-day mankind is headed.  The book points out that every person in this world must carry out an agonizing tempering of one’s agonizing heart and soul, reforming and sublimating one’s spirit, accepting a serious examination, and, finally, settling a general account for one’s past good and evil words as well as deeds.  Those who pass the examination will get into the splendid future eternal world, which is the final destination for mankind.  The subtitle of The Path of Life contains the words “mystical and true,” which means that the descriptions and narratives seem miraculous yet in fact are true.  Some of the events depicted in the book, such as 9/11, have already been proved by the reality of history.  Because this book was actually written by the Creator, he himself tells us the origin of the world and of mankind and the final destination in the future, so it concerns the fate of all of humanity and connects with the fate of everyone in this world.

2.  The book tells us that this world was created by Creator Pan Gu, so questions about everything in this world can get answers from this book.  The answers are not lying clearly on the surface; one should read the book again and again, pondering deeply, then, gradually comprehending at first, one can get sudden enlightenment.  The first volume of The Path of Life seems full of fairy tales, such as the account of 9/11 in Chapter 10: it reads like a myth yet ten years later history proved it true.  The second volume talks about science; the third volume describes the splendid future eternal world.  In fact, The Path of Life is an encyclopedia, containing information on innumerable subjects, including the fields of culture, science, and civilization.  Such as:

      The formation of the chaos and the cosmos; the formation of astronomical constellations within the universe; the geographical distribution of land and water areas; the fact that there will be no high mountain ranges in the future world; nor will the earth be a sphere, rather a round, flat, pancake shape;

      The center of the chaos; the fact that there are actually two centers;

      The formation of the cosmos and the human world; the fact that the human world was created three times; the world we now live in being the third creation of Creator Pan Gu; that there are twenty-five human worlds apart from ours; connections to people from outer space;

      Philosophy: advocating using deductive and inductive methods to gain a wide perspective of all the things of this world; discussing the relationship between materialism and idealism and putting forward an entirely new philosophical point of view to lead mankind to recognize the world correctly and to reform it;

      History: putting forward center-correctism in the historical field; putting forward predestination and prearrangement in history, telling people to observe and study history by using this point of view, to research the real causes behind the development of human history;

      Politics: the coming into being of nations, nationalism, national flags, etc.; China’s Cultural Revolution and how it represents Mao Zedong’s carrying out the scheme of Pan Gu to temper humankind;

      Economics: socialism, communism, and capitalism all discussed; the development of science making possible a situation in which employers do not need to exploit workers’ hard labor, depending instead more on science and technology;

      Creation of culture, language, and written languages;

      Anthropology: involving the theory of evolution;

      Ethnology: why there are several races and colors;

      Physics: putting forward the idea that there is a more powerful energy source than nuclear;

      Chemistry: putting forward the fact that there are 115 chemical elements in the world;

      The evolution of creatures, the origin of species;

      Sociology: comparisons of several kinds of societies; the division of labor in the future world;

      Medical science: the structure of the human body, medical treatments, the relationship between body and soul; why people contract diseases, etc.;

      Religion: the origin of religion and its future;

      Sexual relationships: as the basic relationship in the chaos;

      The family: in the future world five generations of one family living together in one great estate, each unit within the large family having its own smaller home;

      Cities and suburbs;

      Communications in the future world;

      Commercial and currency issues;

      Marriage: the style of marriage in history and in the future;

      Birth: why pregnancy needs ten [lunar] months; the relationship between family planning in present-day China and the plan in the future eternal world for every couple to have two children, a boy and a girl;

      Why the age of human life in general is about fifty.

      Mortality and immortality: the fact that humans’ bodies are made of matter, and matter is immortal; why humans die; how in the future world humans will be immortal;

      Why people in this world cannot remember their own childhood;

      Fate: that 90 percent of everyone’s fate is preordained, only 10 percent being subject to one’s own choice to do good or evil; then facing the final judgment; then the decision as to whether one gets into the future eternal world or not; those who do get in becoming immortal;

      Health and happiness for everyone in the future world; no more handicapped people; the majority of presently handicapped people getting into the future world, but some people (if they do not reform themselves seriously) being eliminated forever;

      The correspondence between one’s fate and one’s fingerprints and palm patterns; morality, standards of behavior.

This latter category leads to the central idea of The Path of Life.  The whole book emphasizes and teaches repeatedly from its beginning to its end that all human beings should carry on an arduous tempering of one’s mind and soul, putting forward the standard for everyone’s behavior: take kindness and benevolence as basis, take frankness and friendliness to heart; speak with reason, treat with courtesy, act with emotion, accomplish result.

3.  Those who do get into the splendid future eternal world after undergoing arduous tempering will be immortal, will never contract any disease, will never die.  They will enjoy an abundant material life and a colorful cultural life.  Pan Gu Shengong, created based on the principles in The Path of Life, is the golden road leading to the splendid future eternal world.

The above passages recommend, appraise, and explain briefly the contents of The Path of Life; from them, people will not have difficulty in understanding the importance of this book.  Thus we repeat that The Path of Life is the most—most—important treasure of a book in human history; it concerns the destiny of all mankind and also the destiny of every individual in the present-day world.

By the way, here let us discuss the magical phenomenon associated with this book: that since The Path of Life carries with it information from the Creator, it possesses a disease-curing function.  Some people have felt an energy field while reading The Path of Life; some diseases have been cured by the reading process itself.

Another strange phenomenon is that many people, when reading The Path of Life, will fall asleep.  If not the first time, perhaps it will happen the second or third time.  Some people may ask why this would happen.  From our understanding, it is because the Creator, in the center of the chaos, tells us the origin of the cosmos, tells us that we mankind were created by him and then came to this world millions upon millions of years ago.  Now this book is guiding us to go back to our original home, back to the humanity’s ancestors.  When people are reading The Path of Life they are passing through a long, long time-tunnel and therefore become drowsy—whereas in fact in such a wonderful process the soul is becoming awake!
