PGSG Bonita Springs Group Celebrates Master Ou's Birthday

The Feb. 11th 2010 Bonita Springs Group interestingly enough fell on Qigong Grandmaster Ou Wen Wei’s birthday!  To celebrate this special occasion, we were honored to have Robert Anderson and his wife, Rose Wright, present.

Robert is one of the editors working on Master Ou’s books.  His hand has held the pen that has written the words of Master Ou’s wisdom in English, making it possible for American ears to hear.  This evening was to be the second time we in Bonita Springs were able to listen to excerpts from Volume I of The Path of Life.  (Volumes I and II are still being worked on and have not yet been published; Volume III is the part of The Path of Life that is currently available in book form.)

The evening began with all of us closing our eyes and listening to the beautiful song known as “Beautiful Lake Tahoe,” which can be found on Master Ou’s newest CD, “My Hometown,” and is known to have an exceptionally strong healing quality.  A wave of tranquillity came over the room, and one by one the PGSG students and teachers sank into their chairs.  Frowns relaxed, faces became smooth, and peaceful smiles relieved of tension were everywhere.

Suddenly the music stopped.  In the stillness and quiet you could hear a pin drop.  I then saw eyes open wide in anticipation of what we were about to hear.  Robert began to read, and for the next hour (almost) we heard Master Ou’s words of wisdom.  Every word was enjoyed and digested like a scrumptious meal!

Announcing a break, Robert stopped reading so we could enjoy some homemade cake baked by my mother.  Before we ate the cake, we all stood around the table and sang “Happy Birthday” to Master Ou (you can see this when you click on the above link).  The cake was made with love and tasted especially good!  While we were eating, we enjoyed listening to each other’s experiences with the Pangu Shengong practice and Master Ou’s music.  A common bond of kindness and love was shared by each person who was present.

When we were finished, we returned to our seats to hear more from Volume I of The Path of Life.  Once Robert began, the time passed quickly; suddenly we were at the end of chapter 9, and the time for us to hear Master Ou’s wisdom from his words had come to an end.  At this point Robert opened up the floor for questions and discussion.  Not surprisingly, one of the first questions was when would the book be available—so those who wanted to could finish reading it.  (It is uncertain as to when this will happen.)  Another question had to do with one student’s curiosity about what Robert’s experience has been like as he has worked on the editing.  Robert said that he continues to receive energy from the writings every time he works on them.  One student had a question about the similarity he has noticed between his experiences in reading The Path of Life and in doing the Non-Moving Form: why does he fall asleep?  Robert—and others—talked about how other students have also reported this phenomenon, and how it is related (at least in part) to the way that the Pangu Shengong energy works on the nervous system.  Another student asked a question about healing—why couldn’t she simply visualize in her mind the person she wants to heal and make the illness go away?  This prompted a lively discussion about the way we attempt to heal with Pangu Shengong and the role of both the healer and the receiver.

I personally was amazed with the insight and confirmation of some of the thoughts I was having as I was listening to Master Ou’s words.  Every time I hear or read something he has written, my insight into the Pangu Shengong practice continues to deepen.  This is something Master Ou has said will occur—and it does.

The questions continued a little longer, and then it was finally time to end them.

To finish off such a wonderful evening, we were also honored to have Rose lead us in singing.  Rose has worked hard to memorize several of Master Ou’s songs in Chinese (four so far, and bits and piece of others).  “Other students can learn them too,” she reminded us.  A copy of “The Pangu Shengong Song” in pinyin (Western alphabet) were handed out to each student.  Again I saw many eyes opening wide and gazing down at the sheets.  I heard someone say, “Are we supposed to sing this?”  To most this looked like an impossible task, but the results proved different.

We all began to sing and Rose’s beautiful voice led the way.  It was amazing: we all sang the song with love and energy in our voices!

To top it all off, we then did group practice, after which people continued to talk in small groups about their various experiences—while eating even more birthday cake.

We couldn’t have ended our get-together in a more awesome way!
