Pangu Yoga

Introduction :
Pangu Yoga, created by Master Ou Wen Wei and Anisha Desai Fraser in October 2011, is a gentle and unique style of yoga that combines the benefits of yoga and the energy cultivation aspects of Qigong. This practice is an invitation to discover the profound relationship between man, nature, and the universe, to experience a deep connection with Divine Spirit, and to share that compassion and kindness with others. The light, energy, and healing principles of Master Ou Wen Wei's Pangu Shengong are infused within the movement and breath of a simple yet powerful yoga practice, grounded in love and kindness. The form follows the movements of yoga, however the internal feeling and experience are profoundly different. You need not have any yoga or qi gong experience to benefit from this wonderful journey. This style of yoga includes a mantra or maxim, visualization, and a special breathing, connecting you deeply to the powerful love and healing energy of Pangu Shengong throughout the practice. Opening with a gentle flow of postures, practice ends with pranayama, and a deeply relaxing savasana. This practice is unique in that the practitioner is able to receive the benefits of both Pangu Shengong and yoga, increasing the experience of love and absorption of life force. This workshop is sure to refill your well and rejuvenate the spirit. You will have a depth of experience and sensation that go beyond what words can describe. The best way to understand this is to experience it.

Pangu Yoga creation
I believe we’re in a time during which we should be building bridges of unity rather than separation, a time when integrating all of our knowledge brings us to a common purpose for all of humanity. We can bring Truth and Love to ourselves and others through many avenues, and this is my hope with Pangu Yoga. In October 2011, I asked Master Ou to co-create the Pangu Yoga form with me in hopes of bringing this amazing practice and energy to more people around the world. With most Qigong styles, it takes years of Qi cultivation to build a strong foundation. During the Pangu Yoga class or any of the Pan Gu Mystical Qigong classes, there is a powerful transmission during which the foundation of the form is passed to you and you are able to build on this forever. It's like software being loaded on to the hard drive of your nervous system, the bridge between the body and soul.

Healing benefits
The benefits of the practice are almost too numerous to count. The main areas of healing include a strong internal body, regulating and energizing the muscles and tendons, a healthy immune system, a clear, calm and focused mind, balanced emotions, a balanced nervous system, cultivation of spirit, and transformation of heart and soul. The effects of this yoga are cumulative, building a reservoir of peaceful vitality, and continuously strengthening your Divine connection each time you practice. As a practitioner and teacher of Pan Gu Mystical Qigong, and co-founder of Pangu Yoga, I know this to be true, both through my own experiences as well as those of my students. Recently I started taking Pangu Yoga classes and practicing on my own. After the first class, I couldn't believe how good I felt. I felt like I'd been given a special gift that permeated through my body and soul. The positive results were immediate. Words can't describe how it has changed my outlook on life. My life feels more purposeful and focused. People I don't know well make comments that I seem more relaxed, more engaged, and happy. The light inside me seems to shine more brightly. On nights when I can't sleep, I repeat the passcode to myself. I find it calms my spirit and I'm able to fall asleep more quickly. I find that through continuing to take more classes, continuing my home practice and incorporating the passcode into my daily life, I'm able to maintain an ongoing positive energy. Through Pangu, I've found a refreshing way to approach life where I'm focused on creating a positive lifeforce. I hope all can share in the joy.

"I have taught yoga for 12 years and taken yoga for many more, but have never experienced anything like Pangu Yoga. It is transformative on many levels other than the physical and mental. Yes, I feel great after Anisha's classes because the slow, gentle stretches help get out the kinks of the week. And my mind is more peaceful after hearing her calm voice and reminders to take "whole body breaths" that send healing white, divine light into every cell of our bodies. But it goes deeper. Each week is like an energy healing that cleans out the cobwebs that have built up over the weeks, months and years. I have been practicing Pangu Yoga about a year now, and I feel lighter, more positive, calmer and more centered. One of Anisha's teachings, from Master Ou, is to infuse kindness into your life. I appreciate the reminders every week, and feel that, too, seeping into my bones. Pangu yoga is a gift that I am thankful to have opened."

After 6 years of practicing Pangu and teaching yoga and Qi Gong, I am thrilled with the newest addition to the Pangu family: Pangu Yoga. I love the beauty and grace that flows through the practice. It's evident that the true healing power of Master Ou's original Qi Gong form is infused in the practice, as well as the therapeutic benefits I've become accustomed to from yoga. I can feel the energy running through me as I work my way through the sequence, and I feel both refreshed and invigorated upon completion. Master Ou and Anisha Desai Fraser have created a fantastic fusion of Qi Gong and yoga, and I feel blessed to have this practice in my life.

I remember feeling so grounded in the practice, and even though it was my first experience with Pangu Yoga, Anisha led it with such love and care. I felt so at home with the practice that I began to wonder to myself, "where have I practiced this before?" Feeling much gratitude for the class and the accompanying DVD so I can practice at home too!

First I felt a deep connection within each cell in my body and the importance of consciously being aware of that connection, as we were doing the practice I felt my being communicating on the cellular level to receive all that Pangu is offering connecting the heaven and the Earth. Second, it is the connectedness within ourselves with our being that is the basis for the unity, for our ability to connect to the outside world. So the more aware and connected we are with our inner being the more connected we become with the outer world. How can we appreciate the growth of a flower if we have not recognized and sincerely felt and understood our own development. The outside world can in turn help is to understand ourselves better as well. Interesting isn't it?

I had an amazing experience during the class you taught. I have tried yoga because I have heard about its benefits. My own experience however, was that it brought up what felt like overwhelming amounts of emotion. I would start crying and crying and feel disconnected from my body. So I did not continue. Pangu Yoga is so beautiful. I felt enveloped and held in the golden light and I had an experience of movement that felt so safe, so loving. It felt relaxing, too. Also, I have had blood sugar problems for the last couple of years. During the midst of the class, I started to feel the way I do when my blood sugar is starting to get low. I didn't want to miss any of the instruction to get food, and I could feel that I was receiving so much energy, so I decided to just relax and continue. Without eating anything, I felt as if I had eaten food and by the end of the class I was feeling back to normal again. This has never happened before. I was amazed!

I slept nine hours the night after my first session of Pangu Yoga! Needless to say, it is relaxing and centering. Anisha's calm, gentle presence invites you into the practice and seems to hold you throughout. Pangu Yoga felt like a good yoga session, energy session, and meditation all rolled in to one, with all the peace and healing that come from each combined. I have been practicing qi gong for about two years and have been a yoga instructor for 10 -- Anisha has combined the two in a creative and meaningful way. I felt the effects for several days after the class, and am counting the days until the next!

I first learned Pan Gu Yoga in January of 2012. It was at Anisha’s very first Pan Gu Yoga class! Afterward, the second time I attended the class was when Master Ou was visiting Raleigh in March 2012. To practice Pan Gu Yoga in Master Ou’s presence was amazing. There was such an ease about the practice, yet was very powerful and it allowed for the deeper experience. Then came the Pan Gu Yoga retreat in April 2012. There among other activities, we practiced Pan Gu Yoga as a group, three days in a row! WOW!! This was most definitely a unique Pan Gu Yoga experience. Anisha & Paul created and nurtured this awesome, sacred environment the whole time. My heart just opened up in that safe space. I felt as though I was tilling the soil of my heart ever so gently. So many things came up for me, and I was able to work through them with a loving energetic support of the group. Together we had created a safe loving space where we bonded beautifully. A talk about Pan Gu theory by Paul and follow up discussion allowed for a better understanding of my life & my responses to my life experiences. I took many lessons from this talk. I left the retreat feeling energized and at peace! This was an experience I would not want to miss.
