Testimony:

I learned the Moving Form of PGSG in Montreal in August of 2011. I have been practicing the form daily ever since, and from the moment I began, I noticed its immediate impact on my wellbeing — physical, emotional and mental.

I was introduced to the Eastern arts in 1997, when I was recovering from a severe burnout, which led to a compromised immune system and distressed internal organs that were having trouble functioning properly. Tai Chi was one of my ways to recovery, demonstrating how the proper circulation of qi can benefit us, and is, in fact, essential to our health. I began practicing Tai Chi, only able to practice a few minutes at first; the results were immediate. I began to regain my health. Much later, when I became stronger, I added the hard style – Kung Fu – to my practice, and later still, upon meeting my esteemed teacher, Paul Fraser, became a student of Qi Gong. Through Paul, I was introduced to Master Ou and to Pangu Shengong (PGSG). I heard Paul’s account of his own journey to Qi Gong, and could see clearly how positively the practice was affecting him; I was then fortunate to become a student of Master Ou as well, deepening my studies and my practice.

The initial benefits of PGSG – a more relaxed nervous system, a more peaceful demeanor – we extremely welcome; I felt my “short fuse” becoming “longer”; I had more patience and more inner calm, more capacity to meet the challenges of everyday life with inner peace. On a physical level, I felt stronger and more resilient, and so did my immune system.

Through my teachers, who exemplify the opening maxim of PGSG (“Take Kindness and Benevolence as Basis; Take Frankness and Friendliness to Heart”), witnessing their warmth, sincerity, patience, humility, inner peace and love, I observed how these qualities, together with the practice of the form, train the heart and heal the body.

Training to teach PGSG with Master Ou was not even a question in my mind. I knew I wanted to be able to impart this form to my clients and to anyone wanting to improve their wellbeing, so that they could experience the benefits I was experiencing. Since then, every person I have taught, who has committed to diligent practice, has expressed wonderful benefits: a more calm and peaceful mind, improved health and immunity. It is a spiritual, as well as a physical practice.

I have continued to participate in Pangu Shengong classes, events and retreats over the years, and am fortunate to be part of a truly international community of practitioners who, even though they do not speak the same language, share basic sentiments of love and kindness.

This is an opportunity for me to express my deep gratitude for what Master Ou has given me, and all of us, and for his infinite generosity. Thank you for this wonderful, life-changing gift!
