What is Qigong?

Qigong is a knowledge of health and well being based on observation and experience, studied, practiced and developed for more than 3000 years in China. It offers a way to absorb Qi from the universe, including essential energy and basic elements, which fight disease and improve health. In fact, we as human beings have the natural ability to absorb energy from our environment, including the sun and moon during our daily lives . Qigong is a method that, when practiced, magnifies this ability.

In Master Ou Wen Wei’s article “Qigong is a Special Knowledge Possessing Characteristics of Both Matter and Spirit”, he explains that Qigong is a system of energy cultivation incorporating material and spiritual characteristics to achieve an innate balance of energy. It is a way to absorb Qi from the universe, including fundamental essential energy and basic material elements essential to life, which protect against disease and improve health and vitality.

There are many different schools of Qigong practice.
