I have always wondered about the number 26. Why and what is the significance. Is it associated it with the 26th incarnation. Is there more. The same question comes to mind about the number three.

In the Path of Life, and other works by Master Ou, there are many mentions of PanGu the 26th. According to his book, PanGu the Great, the first creator, created other PanGu deities, 1 thru 26, who were unknown to each other. PanGu the 26th is the creator of our universe. In the legend of PanGu, all the physical universe is an aspect of the original body of PanGu. For example, the rocks of the earth represent fragments of bones from PanGu. Our consciousness represents the “spirit” of PanGu. Thus a human being has a physical body and a spiritual body, but both exist because they are in fact the essence of PanGu the 26th. Since most of the universe is non-physical, it is logical to think of most of the universe as spirit, or in more modern terms, consciousness. In terms of qigong, qi is closely associated with our human spirit and vital energy. “ Qi is from the universe and is a special entity, having characteristics of both matter and spirit (ling)” (Master Ou’s Gold Cup thesis, 1995).

As we all know that everything in this world has its cycle. For example, Earth takes 24 hours to spin itself one round and take 365.26 solar days to orbits the Sun once. 26 is a very important Life Cycle. To rotate 26 times resonates this important Life Cycle, so it is perfect for your health. For detail, please read the book "the Path of Life".

Thanks.
Saber, that was a wonderful reminder. Well done and and I appreciate the information. Olivia, thank you too. I feel the cycles.
I try to understand the 26 incarnations, and feel the results of the 26 cycles.
Let us go another level below the surface. Why is 26 so important to the life cycle ? Why do we respond to it? Agreeing to it , why is it and what is behind it?

Hi Portage creek, Did you read the book "the Path of Life". It takes a whole book to explain why 26 and all other important theories. If I simple use a few sentences to answer it, it will totally ruin the answer and ruin the book.

Thank you Richard.
I began practice of both the moving and non moving forms in the first half of 2004, and frankly have experienced the benefits since. I have been fortunate to have had personal instruction in all three forms buy Master Ou and thank him before and after each practice for what he has provided us..
Perhaps I took Robert's advice too much to heart back then when I read the Path of Life for the first time.
(page 8 of the introduction -" As Master Ou said in a recent talk about science and religion and Pan Gu, it is not necessary to accept the Path Of Life as factual; read it as a novel. if you will science fiction --or mythology" )
I am burdened by the quest to understand and know more, and will as suggested take a deeper look at the Path of Life for answers.
Is there any information as to when the next volume will become available?
Gary

For some people, it's a good idea to read "the Path of Life" as a novel, a fiction, or a mythology for the first time, because it would help them to use an unbiased and calm mindset to read the book. But even so, many people still couldn't get the complete plot right after their first reading. Why does this happen? It's a mystery of the book . My experience is that the process of reading "the Path of Life" helps me to gain more awareness of my learning pattern and gives me chance to improve them. To borrow a psychological term, it helps me to recognize my shadow, turn my unconsciousness into consciousness, and transcend my psyche. Because of this reason, I would rather not to tell the new readers about why 26 (and other details as well) so that you can enjoy the unique reading process of discovering yourself.

Olivia,
Thanks to your urging, and of the other's too, I am rereading "THE PATH OF LIFE" again. This will be the third time and although only about half way through it is providing answers to questions I did not know I had. It is also generating more subtle questions as I try to understand.

I totally agree with Olivia! If you can get the answer through your efforts on reading, deep understanding and mindfulness for a while, you may get inspired one day to see the "Light"! We take for granted that the movements are very simple easy to practice, but actually the deep inside philosophy would take us a long time even our lifetime to understand. Because you see, Knowledge is unlimited, particularly when we meet Master Ou's creating Pan Gu Shengong, which is a very special one that we haven't met before. Try your best, Gary! I believe, you can, right? Even though I haven't read the "Path of Life" in Chinese , (waiting the new edition) I have read the other books "Farewell, My Soul" (two times), and the "Journey of Soul" (three books in Chinese) : don't know how many times, just reading while lining the "core words", after finishing reading, then put them for a while, and come back to read again. Hopefully that I can get new ideas!
