Cultivating One’s Soul and Maintaining Well-being —- A Workshop Given by Master Ou in Macau

On January 24, 2017, the Macau Pangu Kindness and Friendship Association sponsored Master Ou in a half day workshop to over 500 participants in the L’ARC Hotel, Macau. The theme of the workshop was how to cultivate one’s heart and soul in a deeper and more efficient way, enabling one to always stay healthy and happy.

He began the class with a question for the audience: “What is the most significant and profound feature of the Universe?”

“Infinity!” was the answer. He further elaborated: “What makes it infinite? Its endless broadness! We should consider this deeply, using it to help us further our understanding of the truth of the Universe, helping us to learn from the Universe. To emulate the broadness and selflessness of the Universe, to gradually expand our hearts, to learn to have more love and less hate, and apply these qualities to respect others and great nature is what the Universe teaches us. If you want to have a long, healthy and happy life, first you must understand yourself, then try your best to transform greed and narrow mindedness, getting closer to the broad sentiments of the Universe. In this way you will be able to absorb beneficial qi/energy from the sun, the moon and the universe in a much more efficient way.”

Master Ou also mentioned that one way to cultivate our hearts and souls is to pay careful attention to each action in our daily lives, however small, performing these actions with care and love, with the understanding that each action we perform is of potential benefit to others.

From there, Master Ou expounded upon the maxim of Pangu Shengong:

Take kindness and benevolence as basis,
Take frankness and friendliness to heart;
Speak with reason, treat with courtesy,
Act with emotion, accomplish results.

This maxim of Pangu Shengong is the “password” to enter this discipline, the key to open a gateway toward a healthier and happier future. Master Ou pointed out that the core of this maxim are “kindness” and “love.” True love must have kindness as the foundation and a broad heart as the root.

The venue of this workshop was sponsored by Mrs. Angela Leong, a member of the Legislative Council of Macau. She expressed her pleasant surprise at how tranquil and peaceful the atmosphere of the workshop was. She felt calmed as soon as she walked into the lecture hall.
