The 8th International Health, Fitness and Longevity Forum and Health Expo (Qigong Conference)

The 8th International Health, Fitness and Longevity Forum and Health Expo (Qigong Conference) was held in Moscow on Aug 16 & 17, 2014. The honorary president of the conference was Yury Trutnev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. Mrs. Qingyi Huang was the chairman of the conference. They both gave the welcome speeches. Over 500 representatives from more than 30 countries and territories including America, China, the Russian Federation, Germany, Holland, Italy, Australia, Japan, and Singapore gathered altogether to discuss improving human health and longevity.

This year the conference theme was “to share health related scientific achievements in order to build a harmonious world”. Experts, scholars and business leaders from all over the world discussed and exchanged their academic research on the good health and longevity of human beings, from the perspective of medical treatments, physical education, scientific education, cultural arts, martial arts, qigong, etc. Various groups demonstrated various qigong methods and fitness and health exercises.

As the Vice President of the International Health, Fitness, and Longevity association, Master Ou gave a speech entitled “Cultivate and refine your heart to achieve good health and longevity”. Master Ou revealed the real substance behind the famous sentence from the Dao De Jing, “The state of vacancy should be brought to the utmost degree, and that of stillness guarded with unwavering vigor”, and he explained these profound concepts in an easily understandable way. In a clear and concise manner Master Ou introduced the method that the ancient Chinese people used for cultivating their hearts to achieve good health and longevity. Also, he chanted/recited a couple of famous ancient Chinese poems in Ngahyin (the original Chinese language) using a soothing and smooth voice. The poems included Li Bai’s “Thoughts in a Tranquil Night”,“The Reeds” in the group of Odes of Qin from The Book of Odes, the Analects of Confucius, etc. Master Ou’s captivating speech and elegant chants evoked warm applause from the representatives from many different countries in attendance.

On the morning of August 17, Master Ou led more than 30 students to demonstrate the Moving form of Pangu Shengong in front of all the attendees. Master Ou explained Pangu Shengong’s maxim, “Take kindness and benevolence as basis, take frankness and friendliness to heart. Speak with reason, treat with courtesy, act with emotion, accomplish result” in detail in order to reveal its deep meaning. Afterwards, Master Ou briefly introduced his Healing Music Therapy. At the end, he sang the deeply sentimental song, “A song Dedicated to All Mothers from a Father” and his soulful singing deeply touched the audience member’s hearts.

During the afternoon of Aug 17th, Master Ou was given the Highest Honor Award while Olivia Ou and Vincent Chu were given Outstanding Contribution Awards during the closing ceremony of the conference.
